Your Baggage Guide: Everything you need to know about checked baggage
Preparing your bags properly is the first step of your journey. Checked baggage belongs to the passengers and is the responsibility of the carrier, who issues the baggage check tag.
Your baggage allowance: The golden rules
You benefit from a predetermined allowance that may vary depending on the fare, routing, passenger category, and class. It is based on three standard parameters:
Conditions of acceptance
At check-in, the agent in charge may refuse to transport baggage that:
- Is unsuitable: Insufficiently packed baggage or baggage unsuitable for air transport.
- Is non-compliant: Ball-shaped baggage with no flat surface, or improperly packed.
- Presents a danger: Risk to the aircraft's hold due to its packaging, content, or nature.
- Exceeds limits: Baggage exceeding the authorized checked allowance.
